Cheap Mountain Bikes - Where Not To Look

There are many places to look for cheap mountain bikes that seem like good ideas. But, upon closer inspection, many of these sources are not very efficient or practical. Let’s take a look at a couple of them here.

Many people have found some of the best deals by looking for cheap mountain bikes at local garage sales. You can find someone with a really nice mountain bike that is just taking up valuable space in their garage. They are willing to take almost any offer just to get it out of the way. But garage sales are a real hit and miss thing. You really just have to be very lucky to find a mountain bike, much less a really nice one. The only way to increase the odds is by going to tons of sales which is very time consuming.

So if going to garage sales doesn’t work, maybe searching online for cheap mountain bikes would be better? Absolutely! One of the best places to shop online for such items is Craigslist. It really is like having access to bunches of garage sales without having to leave your house. But, like garage sale shopping, Craigslist is still kind of hit and miss. You can search the bicycle category, but you will have to weed through the road bikes, children bikes, bmx bikes and others. And on top of that, you can only search in one city or geographical area at a time.

I think shopping Ebay when looking for cheap mountain bikes is much better. You can narrow your search so that you do not have to contend with other types of bikes. But even Ebay searching can be a little time consuming with its different levels of options. I have found a free website that makes searching and monitoring Ebay much easier. It is built specifically for finding cheap mountain bikes. It’s completely free and requires no signup, etc. Check it out for yourself here: Cheap Mountain Bikes Search Tool - it’s really cool.
